Student Campaign using Patagonia

Role – Editor

Brief: Create an ad campaign for Patagonia focusing on their sustainability and the environment.

Required Elements: Print ad, Instagram ad, website, and video ad.

I volunteered to create the video ad for this campaign because I had a strong creative vision and knew I could execute it. I did so by first using the research one of my team members found to pinpoint the most important aspects of Patagonia’s brand image. We came up with the “Patagonia is You” tagline which I then manipulated to expand on the type of person a Patagonia consumer is. 

I started by finding dramatic music, which I knew would make the viewer emotional, especially when paired with strong visuals and copy. I then used Adobe Stock to find videos that matched the campaign message and compiled them into groups to build tension as the ad progressed. I then cleaned up each segment, added the copy, and paced the videos in time with the beats. 

I enjoyed the process and outcome of this project and loved working with my group as our final campaign had consistent snow visuals and use of our tagline because of our teamwork and communication. Building off of each other’s ideas helped us build a compelling campaign. Once we presented, our assistant instructor and professor commended our work, particularly the video I created.
